Visit American Eagle Foundation

American Eagle Foundation headquarters is located on a 57-acre plot of land nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in Kodak, TN. This location is unprecedented in scale and home to the nation’s largest aviaries, with over 40+ resident raptors, you can see eagles, hawks, owls, falcons and vultures.

Stroll through our Raptor Museum and learn the story of world-famous bald eagles like Challenger and Osceola.  Test your knowledge about raptors, measure your wingspan against several native species, or capture the perfect selfie with our light up wings.

Kids can learn though play at Raptor Roost playground, opening this spring.  After “hatching” from our larger-than-life eagle’s nest, take flight on a zip-line, climb over a wing-shaped obstacle course and soar on the swings.

Visit the gift shop where you can find an array of eagle-themed merchandise, educational materials, and unique souvenirs.  “Adopt” a stuffie version of your favorite bird, with all proceeds from your purchase going directly to care for the live ones!

At Dollywood, guests can stroll along the edge of Eagle Mountain Sanctuary, where they will see the largest exhibit of non-releasable Bald Eagles in the United States.

Eagle Mountain Sanctuary encompasses 400,000 cubic feet on the side of a very steep, heavily wooded hillside. The Bald Eagles residing within Eagle Mountain Sanctuary are all permanently disabled and would not be able to survive in the wild. These birds are cared for daily by AEF staff who provide fresh water and food and who visually ensure that the Eagles are in good health. They are given complete physicals once a year when their enclosures are inspected and renovated.

American Eagle Foundation’s spectacular Wings of America birds of prey show is presented in an open-air theater located at Dollywood family theme park. It features an up-close look at eagles, hawks, falcons, owls and vultures—some in dramatic free-flying form. You can enjoy the Wings of American birds of prey show at Dollywood on any normal park operating day beginning in the spring.
