Brave Spirit

Brave Spirit

Brave Spirit is a male Bald Eagle. He was found in Gulf County, Florida in 2006 by two state biologists who were performing fauna surveys.

He was taken to the local wildlife rehabilitator where, upon inspection, it was discovered he had been shot. The wing had to be amputated at the elbow.

Brave Spirit recovered after his surgery and rehabilitation, and was given the name “Brave Spirit” because of his determination and will to live.

Brave Spirit now resides at the American Eagle Foundation’s “Eagle Mountain Sanctuary” at Dollywood entertainment park in Pigeon Forge, TN. There he lives with other eagles and is on display for everyone to enjoy. Brave Spirit is also an educator of sorts; he is a reminder of what we should and should not do.
